  SYNOPSIS   the definition of a free spirit. kai is
a seasoned traveler whose wanderlust knows no bounds; he roams the star in his eternal quest to pen the next great volume in his anthology. he has touched countless lives over the years, and they too have left countless impacts on his own, shaping him into the infuriating man he is today. what role will he play in your story?

  VISAGE   bright eyes frame a brighter smile. kai's wardrobe contains a wide range of outfits from traditional far eastern robes to more modern slacks and coats. he's quite fond of eyewear, and can often be found hiding his gaze and framing his lovable* grin with them. beneath the cloth lies a tanned frame steadily growing more muscular with each passing season.

  PERSONA   the first to make an awful play on words, and the first to laugh at his own jokes. kai faces each sun's challenges with a grin that could illuminate the star. his fun-loving nature is infectious in day-to-day dalliances and earns him an equal amount of consternation when even a modicum of seriousness is required.flippant nature aside, the doman is easy-breezy, able to slip himself in the good graces of anyone who needs a friend to while the bells away with. well-traveled wisdom gleams behind his foolish facade, and he is wont to share his advice with those who find themselves in need of guidance—and those who don't ask, besides.he has an avid interest in all things adventure and will drop most plans at the mere mention of anything from caravan escorts to big game hunting. no task is too small for his purview... and given his nosy nature, fewer still will go unnoticed once posted on any job board.in between jobs, the doman can be found here, there, or anywhere. firesday? dropping in at the studium to give a guest lecture. earthsday? working the bar at a quaint noodle restaurant. watersday? running laps around thanalan and pestering his friends to train with him. he's never in one place for too long. he always has time to drop whatever he's doing if there's excitement to be had. for kai, there should never be a dull moment in life.  after all, you only get to live it once.

  adventure.  
does your character enjoy a right proper side quest? are they a connoisseur of leveplates? do they live bounty to bounty? chances are, they'll find kai scoping out job notices at the various adventurer's guilds—and elsewhere besides! wanna team up for that hunt?

  foodventure.  
the doman moonlights as a chef for a far eastern fusion restaurant that has locations all over the city states and more. if you ever find yourself hungry and he's around, you won't be hungry for long. in terms of eating, the man's hardly picky—if he can stomach it, he will devour it.

  alchemy... ventures?  
kai's rather enthusiastic about brewing potions, making old world salves and remedies for wounds, and enchanting everything from household items to grimoires to the clothes on his back. he's got a good standing with the alchemist's guild, and if you're willing to take a chance on him, maybe he can make something useful for you.

  a venture in education.  
word on the street is that there's a new adjunct professor at the studium offering pop-up lectures on a wide range of topics from basic aetherology to highly advanced theory. fellow faculty members might just scratch their heads at the presence of such a waggish temp hire among their ranks...

  selling adventure.  
are you an ishgardian in need of an intrepid adventurer's aid? kai can help get your levequest set up with an independent guild in empyreum. ...just try to stay focused. the building also happens to double as an arcade, and there are lots of flashing lights to disorient visitors. cheese and namazu, too.

  the neverending training montage.  
between all the venturing, kai obsessively trains his body. he's uncannily knowledgable in a wide variety of martial arts, and he's always eager to spar... fightsexual might just be his true surname.

  pay him back on watersday.  
perhaps you've accrued a bit of debt. maybe you lost your coinpurse on a tavern run. are you experiencing critical levels of FOMO over that longsword? if you're not the type to live hyperindependently, ask kai for a handout. he's not only brow-archingly generous—he's loaded. and half the time, he won't even ask you to pay him back! ...in gil, anyroad.

  curiosity.  
nevermind the nosy, inquisitive nature of the doman. perhaps you'll find that he's worth inquiring into instead. he is, after all a wealth of contradictions. does your character fancy themself a sleuth? drawn to a good-slash-half-baked mystery? upset enough at kai that you just want to hear him supply one straight answer to their questions? perhaps your pursuit will bear fruit.

  mun.   hi. i'm sagi. thanks for taking the time to read through my little guy's carrd. if you're an old friend and you've got questions, then the most simple answer i can give you is a resounding "yes, you're probably right."

  time.   my timezone is gmt-5/6 (central usa) and i do not know what weekends are. i tend to be most active from late evening to around midnight. if you see me and wanna plan some rp, i'm down to share my discord or other contact info for communication.

  themes.   i enjoy a wide range of themes from slice of life to action to the darker stuff. kai's pretty solidly a 'good guy' type (good to punch, maybe), so while i'm interested in having him meet all sorts of people he isn't too likely to join criminal rp circles (but that doesn't mean he won't dip his toes into morally gray environments). more mature themes are also on the table, but i won't engage in smut with any characters/writers under twenty-one.

  lore.   i tend to be pretty flexible with game lore. there's a lot of neat material that allows for creativity in peoples' backstories and character concepts. if you're very lore-stringent then we might not be the best match as rp partners in the long run. in the short run, i tend to keep any particularly fantastical elements in kai's story off the table while in public.

  conflict.   drama and combat are pretty okay here. i enjoy both freeform and dice-based fighting. hurting kai is a-okay, but please ask before you make an attempt to maim or disfigure him. death is not on the table at this time. or at any time, really. i've tried and failed. i like this one too much. 😔

  take it easy.   we both deserve to have fun with this hobby. don't engage with what you don't like, and don't change your character just to fit in with everyone else. you'll never please everyone, but the ones who matter will stick with you over the years. thanks again for taking the time to snoop.
